Jeddo Coal...

Blackbetty06 have you tried the blashack from country meadows ? If so what did you think of it? I'm going tomorrow after work to get coal. I'm not sure what I want to get.

No I have not. I have a half ton of blashak nagged from county meadows from when I bought my coal stove at hillside acres. It was part of the deal however I haven't burned any yet. I have been very happy with the Stockton this year so far. About half the ash I was getting from last years coal that I bought from mammoth materials

I went with S&T nut coal. I liked the blashack but wanted to try something different. The blashack was very clean coal.

I think the s and t is lightly oiled. I get no dust but I get a few wisps of smoke when I throw the coal I on a hot fire

Is Jeddo has hard and dense as Stockton? I have trouble burning Stockton on warm days, and there are plenty of them when you are burning coal 365 days a year.

just finished off a 4 ton trial load of pea in my coal gun boiler. ny son has been running it last 2 years in his keystoker [rice]. with no problems at all. I go there my self and its real easy in an out plus nice folks to deal with.

ISAYRE according to the people at country meadows the Jedi is just as hard and dense if not a little more even then Stockton

Thanks much! I will stay away from it. It's probably a premium high carbon anthracite for winter home heating, but it does not sound like a summer friendly (compatible) anthracite for DHW.

This coal(Stockton) is at the top of Its game for a hand fired stove and a chimney with a strong draft( as Larry said, not good for year round burning due to the low summer time draft) I never had a chance to burn Jeddo but from what I was told It's always been good.

Isayre from my understanding from the folks at country meadows reading,blashack are softer. And s&t and jeddo are harder. This is just how I took it from how it was explained to me.

My boiler burns such softer anthracite infinitely better in the summer.

The coal I was burning last year from mammoth materials was very soft and easy to light. After I loaded it, by the time I dumped the ash buckets and filled the coal buckets the fire was raging. It would probably be decent in summer. It's red ash and a lot of it though

Went to get some coal today at country meadows and guess what? They sold the coal business to martins ag in new holland pa. Martins ag address is 338 gristmill rd new holland pa. It is actually 1/2 mile closer to me.

I stopped in at martins the other day to check out the new operation. It's a much bigger outfit but seems like country meadows ran it better. Any how it's still the same price and same variety and only 25 minutes from me so I'll keep going! I did buy a bag of Bituminous coal while I was there. I like to throw a handful into my stove and watch the flames while I'm sitting in my recliner!!
