Finally, after 3 months I received my new vanity ! Hauled it upstairs and removed the packaging ... bummer, it has damage.
I saw that the cardboard packaging had a couple of gouges ... one was pretty bad as the vanity shows...
deciding what to do....what would you do.
It weighed over 200 lbs ... moved it up a flight of stairs myself...

Always good to check stuff when you get it. Don't know how you'll do complaining. You accepted it. They'll probably say you did the damage. Nothin ventured, nothing gained! Damn, 3 months??? Was it a special order?

I like Coalfan's advise. Be polite and not pushy and it may happen. Start threatening or talking tough and lawsuits and they will just tell you to bring it back for a refund like I would do (put yourself in their position)
Or just except that its not perfect and use it. I do wish they would package a little better as it seems almost all of these types of things have damage. I did buy a Polish made desk that was boxed well and made tougher than hell, but that seems rare nowadays. Good luck!

I sent the vendor pics. They agreed its damaged by shipping.
Now they offered a replacement (uh, 8 weeks ~ not expedited service there) ... I offered $400 off to make some trim to hide the issue..no dice!
They did not say how the old one would be replaced or new one to be delivered or who packs up the damaged one.
They expect me to pack the old one and haul it back down? grrr.
More to follow.

OK ... got this settled.
The company refunded the total amount for the vanity. They were not interested in replacing it.
They said, with the damaged vanity that I have that they don't want it back either-I could do what I want with it.
So, as far as the company and the damaged vanity, I'm satisfied with the outcome although it wasted 45 days of my time.
Lucky I did not get the quartz top ordered yet....I knew better.

David,
I would try to sand only the blemish, by hand, with fine sandpaper. Then, rub in some 'black KIWI shoe polish', and buff. If it looks good, give a quick squirt of 'clear coat'. If it 'sucks'-FIREWOOD! Good luck.
Cheers

My cat likes it ... maybe some trim .. I could try to use some actual wood stain and then varnish on top if needed. The section really will not get any stress or rubbing ... maybe some painters tape occasionally.D-frost wrote:David,

Still thinking....
Old Kiwi....how many tons of that crap have I used ... "Your boots are not shiny, as I just left a fuel filled field" "Thanks sarg for letting me know..."
