Well CS, of course you identified the real bargain in the auction, the Lister. There is a guy in Hartford who is selling one for $3500. I bought 4 Metro listeroid gensets from a guy called Sam Gott (Marine)10 years ago for $800 each at a clean out auction (pre EPA). I sold two last year for $3500 each and there were multiple offers. The ST gen ends are about $500 so whoever got the Lister got a real deal. Despite Freddy always wanting one, I guess he passed on the Reliants.

Yaaa.... I wanted one with the idea of building an electric car, but now that I have the Mitsubishi I-miev, that idea is moot. Also, really only one of the Reliants was any good. Strangely enough, perhaps not. The bodies were completely fiberglass and the chassis very well protected against rust. Look closely at the video on the underneath of the cars, rust free. I fact that was their claim to fame. The cars were a total POS to drive but very easy to work on and you could have a car or two for spares. I would bet that was why he imported so many of them. I think the original engines were two strokes and even I could remove the engine and strip it down in my sleep (Buick owners take note) and they seldom freeze up on storage. Like the Citroen CV, most things were cable driven. 0-50 in 28 secs (on the 650cc models, 33HP) makes for leisurely driving. I bet I could have one of those cars up and running with very little expense long before Richard got his Buick finished. Also, they were very good in the snow and ice. I demand a video of Freddy driving a restored Reliant ICE driven (no electric) through Bangor. Now that I would pay to see. Freddy, you need a winter project. Hit a local airport to see some classic WWII warbirds, fully restored & operational! Sitting on the tarmac was THE ONE and only surviving B-24J Liberator. Got to look it over up close, and watch it taxi out and take off, with it's 93 year old former pilot on board - was honored to shake his hand.

Since the forum topic is Freddy's Coffee House, guess I will ask my question here. Today I splurged and bought a small bottle ($25.99) of Baileys Irish Cream. I hear it goes well with coffee, so, what's the standard mix ratio or is it to be sipped along with coffee? Usually when I want to kick back it's a beer or two or a Gin & Tonic. Never got into the liqueur thing.

I mix Baileys Irish Cream directly with the hot coffee. The correct ratio depends on your taste preference. Experiment. I think Fred goes a bit heavy on the Baileys but then again his coffee sucks.
