Getting Time to FIRE EM UP!

Ok as you all know Fall is upon us and Winter is around the corner. Time to start firing the Chubby's up if you haven't done so already.

In case anyone needs a little reminder or a refresher on how to start a coal fire in your Chubby here is the video Larry made on the subject.

https://vimeo.com/8506320

As always it is wise to have a fire extinguisher, and make sure you have fresh batteries in the smoke and co detectors NOBODY PLANS on having an accident but accidents can happen. Be safe not sorry.

As always if you need any help feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

The CHUBBY STOVE COMPANY LLC.

Thank for the kind words Windy. :D As biased as I am I too think the video is well done and we hear all the time from people saying how much it helped them. Chubby and non Chubby owners alike.

Stay Warm!

I've been burning wood in mine the past few weeks. I just recieved a set of new door gaskets courtesy of Chubby Stoves... :) . They should be getting installed within the week and I will be lighting up for the long haul soon. Stay warm my friends!

I have my Brandy new ( bought on Lay-Away) Chubby installed and have fired it. I note it must be similar to the "prototype" often spoke of, but never seen!! This stove shakes much better than my old, yet rebuilt one. I don't think its tight though as I can burn completely locked down. Baffling to think where the draft may be coming from. heat is crazy good, as expected, and the blower is amazing, like 2 hair dryers on high!. I will probably pipe this into the home air system, but want to try it more first. Been down below freezing a few nights so its had a christening.
I will have to make a "skinny" shovel though, for the area under the ash pan.
I really didn't expect the Chubby could be improved much, but this thing really is impressive. If its as efficient as last year, Ill be very happy !! ( 27 lb a day avg) heating whole house

F.B.

CONGRATS on your BRAND NEW CHUBBY!!!! My "Proto Chubby" looks like yours. It was the template for all the new units.

I assume the new Chubby is in the same spot as the older one? The new units should be tighter. Take a look at the sliding plate for the air vents. Look at with the door open and make sure it is resting flush with the door. Also make sure the nut holding the air vent handle is tight. Best to check this of course when the stove is cold!

Don't be shy about giving Larry a call either. :D
