Have on order an Alaska Stoker Stove II: Have attached planned layout and am interested to understand correct location for baro damper. (Location I or II on schematic)
Baro damper: Any recommendations on brand and model
Stove pipe: Any recommendation on brand (e.g. Saf-T Pipe, 22-gauge cold-rolled steel; welded seam) or is any OK.
Running black pipe into dedicated flue (had 3 flues built into chimney when I built home...Oil heat/water: fireplace: and third has been used with wood stove): Will do a thorough chimney clean before install of woodstove....do this every year)
New to coal so all comments/suggestions welcome: Would like to get this right first time out.

- Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Alaska Stker II
- Coal Size/Type: Rice
- Other Heating: Oil (forced hot air) & Mini-split (garage and in-law space)
I'm no expert but I would use tee's instead of elbows in your install. It will be easier to clean out fly ash, as you will need to do that. I would use a plug in the bottom tee and install the baro in the top tee.
I'm sure others may have other ideas. Congrats on the stove!

- Other Heating: oil but not much
any 6 inch stove pipe will work, field controls damper is fine. All rear vent alaska stoves I have manual for have damper in location 1 although I have not seen the manual for the stoker II but assume it would be the same setup

Thanks for the advice and manual: I will use the T's (makes alot of sense or maintenance).
Looking forward to firing up the first time.
