andes cylinder stove #218

Hi does anybody know how to burn coal properly in one of these old stoves? There is a bowl shaped grate with holes in it.Does that need to be in it to burn coal or just for wood? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, does it have a slider or grate handle to move the grate(s) to eliminate the burnt ashes? Hard to say.
Does it have any air intakes in the bottoms doors under the fire?

Hi, It has two air intakes on the bottom front and two shaker grates inside and on the front door in the middle there is also a air vent.

Post a few pics, we have a few collectors around here. I'm sure one will recognize it or its design. It sounds like you can burn wood and bituminous. Anthracite should work too if you close off the loading doors draft vent.
