Leave it to engineers to come up with a several million dollar machine to take the place of a $5.00 bottle of Elmer's Carpenter's glue ! :D

Seriously though, a properly fitted glue joint is stronger than the wood on each side of the boundary layers. I wonder how strong that welded joint is ?

Similar process of binding wood when making of wood pellets in a pellet mill...pressure creates heat which cause the Lignin to bind all the particles as the mill extrudes the pellet form.

I thought that's what they made Cellulose Welding rods for.....so carpenters can fix their mistakes :out:

They made those because I'm selling the wood arc welders. I'm also marketing woodburning air conditioners. :up:

Cellulose's melting point is pretty high ... I would think in the presence of oxygen it would just decompose at its melting point.

Rub 2 sticks together to make fire, not weld them together.
