2'd from last in the country and labeled as a financial sink hole and pretty accurate. I am betting 40% of the service related people working are on food stamps and section 8 housing. These morons keep talking about 'jobs'. What happened to 'careers'? Manufacturing has been chased out of the state one town at a time for open space cleaner air being kind to salamanders you name it. The constitution no longer exists in CT and crime is getting silly in places it never existed. A friend in Stonington Village just had the furniture stolen off their porch no doubt to buy drugs.. At mid 60's I have a loaded shotgun handy and pity the fool that wants to break in. There are no warning shots or any of that nonsense. I am too tired to fight and too old to run. I will gladly trade a couple of shoulder bruises for a month in an ICU getting patched up.

New Hampshire has some pretty nice little places too. One of my very good friends lived on Conway at the base of the mountains with a zillion acres of land. the driveway took 5 minutes and a private bridge LOL. 1850's house with a stone fireplace in every room big enough to roast a pig LOL...

It gets cold there and see Maine as even colder and more snow but sure do like the outlook on life if I could better stand the weather they have. I have played the work hard collect toys game and down to an old house heated with coal a old 4 door car and a 91 Corvette that once a month gets thrashed hard on some old back road. It worries the kids with things like what if you die driving too fast or get hurt hauling coal. My answer is why worry we all die sooner or later. Funny the older you get the less you worry just like being a kid again when you thought you would live forever.

Oh well time to try sleep again as my neighbors in a rental woke me up a few hours ago another reason to move...sigh..

I would encourage everyone in the N.E. to bail out ASAP. My blood pressure has dropped in a big way and my hair is changing back to its original color and the smell of fresh air is wonderful. Heck I have even lost 10 pounds and I am eating more... Run don't walk.. While you still can....... Because if you don't.. Just when you think you are out... The region sucks you back in...... :o

Be careful with that DD. I had a CT State Cop tell me 40 years ago that if I shot somebody inside my own house in self defense I had better make sure they had a gun in their cold dead hand by the time the fuzz showed up. It can only be worse now.

CT has a castle doctrine now. Threaten my life in my house and no reasonable way to leave they will have to deal with the shotgun. I have arthritis lower leg edema and walking let alone running can be a challenge. In the end I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 beyond that too old to take a beating. I know they will take the gun and may spend a night in jail if questionable. Locally there have been 3 bank robberies one home invasion that sent a similar aged man the ICU for weeks property stolen off porches in broad daylight and other crazy stuff. As an old comedian has said and forget who.. Homey don't play that game. Just to keep it interesting they are importing more so called refugees...sigh...

A recent Old Americans get together suggested maybe their next multi state mass riot could be at places like Cabelas & Bass Pro due the presence of cork shooters and a bountiful cork supply close by. I'm sure the Authorities have thought about this.

Nothing seems out of the question anymore for those that are the smart manipulators.
