Does anyone have one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thermocouple-Thermometer- ... Sw8cNUQJwk

I was thinking about installing one to monitor both of my stoves but can't seem to find a printed manual. The ad states it auto powers off after 20 minutes to save the batteries but it also has a power port to use a plug in AC adapter. Will it auto power off when connected to AC power?

Thanks

I would expect only the display powers off after a time...not the entire functionality of the device.

And likely still only power off the display even when connected to the AC wall adapter. ;)

I like that but just like you I would want it on all the time, like McGiever said it still may shut off even on AC, see if you can find someone to answer that question.
I keep the two I have now on all the time but I was only getting 30 days on a 9v battery so I wired up a regulated 9v power supply I bought from a music shop, now there a no-touch item.

I sent a message to the seller and their reply was that whether it was on AC or battery, you could put it in"manual mode" which would disable the power off timer. Looks like this will be my new piece for monitoring both my stoves...via web cam of course.

There are other items at more reasonable cost that would give you multiple readings/display via your web-cam.
The higher price of this item goes into the ability to record to memory of 4 separate channels.

Nice toy though ;)

Aside from stove pipe temps the boiler zone and thermosphion guys can capture supply and return of 2 zones or even 4 zone on one side.
