Pyro,
"You gotta love a Chubby!"
There's your solution. The Chubby install data is on the Chubby web site in 'pdf' file for the inspector to swallow! You might have to go to the 'liquor store' to pay one of your friends to help with the 'switcherooo'
Cheers

Yes, but they do not supersede a citizen controlling, power hungry local inspector :flex: :nono:
That's where the bother-in-law who is a lawyer comes in handy. :D

My town inspect. didn't know (couldn't be bothered) about installation clearances, when I applied for my permit 4-5 years ago. even the local Fire-cheif wasn't any help, cause he refereed me to the town insp., "after" I talked to him. So I ended up doing all the footwork, and ended up with what Paul listed, "NFPA 211 reduced clearances." Once that, the town "wood stove" requirements, and my steel chimney certs were all in order, the town inspector issued the permit. The funny(?) thing was, the assistant (girl) who came out to do the inspection remembered working at the same Company as me 15-20 yrs B4, and ended up telling stories, for over an hour! She never even looked at the install, and signed me off the next day.

It amazes me how little some inspectors know and how they can be so ornery and get away with it all.

The inspector that covered this town when I moved here 25 years ago, was an agreeable sort -friendly, polite, and willing to guide and work with an owner.

A few years ago, he retired and we got a gal who was fired from her previous job as inspector in a neighboring town. As soon as she got here she started raising hell. Her methods of dealing with people were 180 degrees from her predecessor.

Maybe the inspector could be asked for the original operators manual and crash test data for a Model T toothy
