Cookin' With Coal Recipes Wanted!!
Hi! We are looking for everyone and anyone who has a recipe or two they would like to share for cooking food on or in your coal stove. We may or may not use your recipe at http://www.chubbystove.com in the future and of course you will receive full credit for the recipe as well if you would like.
I for one LOVE making "Baked Potatoes" in my Chubby. Pretty simple to do. Wrap up the spud or two of your choice in some heavy duty aluminum and place the potatoes in the Chubby along the side of the firepot and inside edge of the barrel. Turn the potatoes after 8 and 10 mins and cook for another 8 to 10 mins.
When done, top them off with copious amounts of butter, bacon, cheese sour cream ect ect ect and get ready for "CARB COMA" .... Sure beats
microwaved "baked" potatoes.....

Has anyone out there found a way to get a Pizza stove in the Chubby? I bet once the Coal had been burning for awhile the Chubby would make an excellent Pizza Oven

Ive cooked mostly just by opening the door and using a bonfire stick (with a window open too, for CO purposes). Kind of trying to remind myself of summer,
I'm looking forward to seeing what Larry and you have concocted now!

Chubby Chile Recipe
3 cans Pastene Ground Peeled Tomatoes
2 lbs ground beef
1 yellow onion (diced)
2 Jalapeno peppers. (diced)
1 lb Ground Sausage
Chile powder
Cumin
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Chili Flakes (optional)
This is a very simple recipe and of course can be modified for each individual palate.
Brown Hamburger and Sausage in large pan. Add 1/2 the onions and Jalapeno peppers while cooking
In a large pot (cast iron is best) simmer the Ground Peeled Tomatoes adding Chile Powder and Cumin as you see fit. Add the rest of the onions and jalapeno and simmer for at least 1 hour. Add Ground beef and sausage and continue to simmer. You can add water if needed and or 1 can of Tomato soup if you desire.
Of course other spices can be added as you see fit.
Great with homemade cornbread.....
