the same goes for the UL737 ... they just tell you the overview of what the code will tell you but they want you to buy the book.Canaan coal man wrote:I searched online for NFPA211 2013 guidelines but they want you to buy them.......
New guidelines are renewed every 3 years so a new code book will be out by 2016.
Now why wouldn't you make that public? So someone like myself who's trying to be a law abiding citizen and have a law abiding installed stove now has to pay more to do the right thing?
I had chimney work done and the company got a building permit .. He asked me what I was gonna be burning and I said coal. That was as far as the conversation went . So I guess the county knows I had chimney work to burn coal . As far as anything else goes though nothing was discussed or prompted .
I think the laws are vague with the reason a permit needs to be had. I believe in this county it states that if you install a new stove or replace your existing stove a permit needs to be had . however I believe that is only for those who may have a business that would be doing the work. I can find nothing regarding a homeowner putting in a stove prior to UL listings.
