I don't deer hunt as I don't like the meat ... but I do appreciate the hunters keeping the population down.

7:25AM.. if its brown its going down. Filled doe tag... shot about 125 yards in woods from where deer,s hanging, backyard of home property. Shot was about a 50 yard shot, right thru lung/heart, no bullet exit. .243 rifle, must have hit rib bone going in.

Don't know what it weighs... but 2 of us dragged up out of woods.Gonna take to local butcher.. have him weigh it when I take it in. so I know about what to expect back. figure 30-40% fur, bone waste. Then back out in woods.. see if there are any bucks in backyard, if not taking one day this coming week, probably go to farm.... know there's bucks up there.

She definitely has a booty butt. so probably good amount of meat in rear roasts.

I failed to send in my doe tag this year so have to wait for a buck. I saw one buck tonight following 6 doe but could not make sure the third point was legal. I would have hated to shoot it and have it not be legal. Probably someone will shoot it anyway.

Flyer5, how long has a club been hunting the woodburne property? Looks like there was no pressure in my back yard... when my doe came along.

Freetown, butcher at place I took it, says its about 150-160 as field dressed... was the biggest one brought in to him saturday.. way bigger!!

I don't hunt and I have deer who come and eat out of my hand. This one has visited me since he was a little fawn. They stay pretty close during hunting season.

Awww...he's a beauty. Hopefully nothing ever happens to him. So, he stays on your property during hunting season? Smart buck!

Do you feed him some anti flea and tick supplements?

If they manage to live for a few yrs., they do seem to make the connection of safety around buildings. We have had that happen here at our place for a few yrs.
