HEY, wait just a minute here........ Did you steal the scenario from the post I stole from Lightning??? :) As I'm sure you know, I switched shop stoves, and have been having the exact same problem as you. Switching coal made a big difference with me. Of course I knew quality of coal from each supplier. That helps. I happened to be at the supplier with the lower quality, and bought some coal. Stove hated it. Bought from the other supplier, and stove runs much better. My HITZERs didn't really care where I got the coal from. This D.S. does. However, I can't blame poor recovery all on the coal, or the stove. I think the weather has a lot to do with it. I mean, Look at the mild weather we've been having. I think once winter sets in, all will be back to normal. I have checked other chimneys in the area. Drafts have been nothing to brag about. For now, you may just have to put up with it. Do little things other members have mentioned.

I have burned for a few days at a time several times and hate cleaning out a cold stove and thinking about waiting until there is at least one solid week of 40 and below weather as it will be close to 60 for the next few days here not that I mind that one bit just hopeless burning coal and not wasting it.
