Alaskan 140. Can I Use a Coal-Trol

Alaskan 140. Can I use a coal-trol

I have an Alaskan 140 dual burner and have read that I can use a coal-trol on it. I have heated with coal for most of my adult life and my father heated with it when I was growing up so I have a good understanding of stoves. If I understand correctly the coal-trol controls the feeder speed and the combustion blower still runs all the time. My problem is that on my stove the feeder and blower run off the same motor. Is there a different feeder/blower configuration that would allow the use of a coal-trol. And I know about warranty issues with Alaska and aftermarket parts, this does not bother me at all. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The Coal-trol can be used on your Alaska 140. Many have done so. The feeder and combustion air off of one motor can be adapted as-is by using the Coal-trol in Triburner mode. A better way is to separate the combustion air from the feeder with the addition of new combustion blowers.

Give us a call and I'd be happy to explain the details of both alternatives.
