Iraq Spinning Out Of Control....Again!

Maybe it is start of upward trend or it could just be blip. However until I see trend I won't make that decision. SPC is right, this is exactly what they want the American public to do and I'm sure the media will add fuel to the fire and play it for all its worth with their gloom and doom... Months of success and not peep from them, some violence erupts and its going to be all over the news.

Tell you what, when the IRS calls me & says Stephen you don't have to pay income tax any more, you don't have to help contribute to Americans with disabilities, Medicare, Medicaid, SS, or defense funding, then I'll stop voicing my opinion. Deal?

my advice to all the political arguments: cut the cable wire going into your television. It is all rhetoric.

So your position is that any questioning or disagreement with our leaders in Washington DC should never be expressed since they could give comfort to our national enemies? (If that is your opinion then how can a democracy hope to work?)

No but when you get little blip of violnece on the screen then put title like "Iraq Spinning Out Of Control....Again!" you're going overboard just as the media does. Then the American public sucks it up like sponge and turns mole hill into a mountain like you have done here. What are you going to say if this subsides in two days? Probably nothing just like the media.

Because you pay taxes does not anoint you with knowledge about things like "war" & I feel it is the height of hypocrisy to "cheerlead" a war when you have never even been a spectator at a football game.

Or, do you feel that simply paying taxes, which we all I required to do by law, sufficiently fullfills one's moral obligation to repay this country for all the benefits we have as citizens? A fair question, I think.

OK.....I'll conceed that I might "be going overboard" in my reaction to the last few week's increase in violence in Iraq. I'm willing to wait a bit & see if it's hopefully just a blip or if it is a dangerous trend, as I fear it is. I don't think I can be faulted for having no faith/trust in this administration at all to either fix the problems in Iraq or even to admitt them.

Look, all the news is pointing to an increase in violence in Iraq in the last few days.

That's cause that's all they will report.

Sorry but you have to give them credit, check that graph out. The last 5 months have been the best months there were since '03. They are also 5 of the lowest since this fiasco started, might one or two other prior months where it was lower. December is the second lowest out of all of them. If the numbers tripled next month they still wouldn't exceed that of April of last year. You simply can't say anything else except that what they are doing is succeeding at the moment.

I appreciate your honesty but feel that merely "obeying the law" (by paying taxes) does not count when it comes to fullfilling your moral obligation to repay your country for the many benefits you have as a citizen. You could have chosen to join the paeacetime army but you didn't.....You could have enen chosen to join the Peace Corps but you didn't. I have nothing but contempt for people who are willing to have others shed their blood or do the many important (& often dangerous jobs) while they sit safely at home & crow patriotic slogans & thoughts. Sorry, that's just the way I feel.

With your logic how could you vote for BHO as Commander in Chief? John McCain should definitely be your choice.
