Still on my first lite so far. This batch of coal I'm using this year isn't clinkering or have any shale. I might be able to do one match, we'll see.
It's nut from DiRenzo.

The stove is out, will report on what I find later.

I wonder if they took over the vein Blaschak was mining back in '11? I had endless grate jams in '11-'12 & '12-'13 seasons. I was ready to snap!!

I've had 4 outfires so far on the boiler. Forgot to add coal a couple times, forgot to flip the switch back on once after taking ashes out, then cleaned it out on Friday - that was the 4th, but intentional.

Been a long, long time since I stayed in the 1-match club!

I have found a loop-hole for you guys, that I have been using for a couple of years.I let my DVC500 go out when I just don't need it,and when I want to light 'er up again,I go down to my ever-burning EFM520 with a one quart pot, fill it with burning coal right out of the fire pot,and take it up and dump it on a nice bed of rice in the DVC500.Boom.instant fire,no additional matches! I never saw anything in the regulations saying that could not be done.It works for me...

Looks like it was a piece of ore, must have been a hunk of coal with high metal content. I can't be 100 percent sure that was the offender but it could sure mess things up if it got stuck in the grates.

The item on the left is a small stone I found in the ash as well. I haven't sifted all the ash yet, but I think this was it.

Stove is refilled and back to normal. :D

Well, has the wifey asked why you put that into the stove?

Getting warm for Christmas ... but still nice to have the stove running for a few degrees bump.

I almost lost the fire tonight. It must have burned hotter than I thought today and I let it go an hour longer than normal with the warmer temps. OOPS. A little kindling and some charcoal and it got going again. Thats embarrassing because I know better but got busy out in the garage.

Forecast for 70F Christmas Day. It's 57F here now.

I think I'll save some of that 1900lbs that came today ;)

My Keystoker 90 will still "Burn on and Keep Calm" even with the coming warm weather. Yeah I am not in the One Match Club, I lost a fire due to operator error, you must turn the Coal-trol on after emptying the ashes  Dumb Ass

Yeah, not a coaltrol, but I have a switch that I worry about leaving off. I also turn off the boiler when changing ash pans. ;)

55F outside when I went to bed last night. 60F this morning at 7 am.

Stove's firebox top plates were averaging 600F, stack was 114F, mano .01, with no need of any the check damper opening when I dampered it down last night.

I haven't used one match all season .............
............ just don't ask me about the BBQ grill lighter, though. :D

Don't hate.....but I could care less about the "club"

Matchlight  enables a coal stove to begin producing heat in minutes, with 50 lbs fully lit in under an hour.
