With these temps and my stove as low as I could get it my house has been hovering around 81 degrees A little to warm and it's only forecasted to get warmer. So I let the stove go burn out and now I'm afraid I will have to turn the A/C on if it keeps getting warmer...( just kidding ). Do many of you let your stoves go out with these temps? Tomorrow forecast is 76.

Some stoves are just more able to idle way down WW. We all do what we gotta do with this kinda weather. I've been burnin constant since early Sept. Almost lost it once but she came back.
Came down with an upper respritory infection AGAIN. I might as well mark it on the calendar because it was over Thanksgiving last year. Consequently I missed one of the stoves feedings and it went out on me. With higher than normal temps coming I may wait a week or so before I fire back up.

Mine's out also. And with oil at $1.38 per gallon, I don't have to keep opening and closing windows.

Let my stoker go out 2 days ago with the house between 76-8o degrees and opened the windows. Just too warm.

Haven't been lit since Monday. Crazy weather...
It's after 10 on Christmas Eve and I'm sitting on the porch smoking my pipe and its 55 degrees out... Not sure I can remember the last time it was this warm on Christmas.

The Marks Brothers are still humming away. I've been able to set them so low that they are burning less coal then it would take to restart them. It's been raining the entire week and it will continue to do so over the weekend. It's been a lot cooler then the 75* record temperatures we've been having indicate. I'm glad the Marks Brothers are keeping the chill out of the house. Lisa

My Mk II has been on and off at least 4 times since Halloween. My wife likes it WARM but I have my limits. And with no heat at all in the basement(where the TV is) it doesn't matter what the price of oil is, I'd still be cold without the blue ladies to warm me up.

I've kept mine lit thru the warm spells by switching over to nut size coal, cut primary air to a sliver and give it all the secondary air that I can. Don't need to open any windows unless it gets over 60 degrees outside.Waswood wrote: Do many of you let your stoves go out with these temps? Tomorrow forecast is 76.

1.64 best price in CT. What is with that?
Round trip from Lehigh Valley Pa to Boston Wednesday, I saw regular on the Merritt for $2.19. Those stations were always at least a dollar more than anywhere else.
