I have not been on Ebay looking at stoves for quite some time. I was bored tonight so I went out there looking. Are they out of their minds? Unrestored stoves listed for $2,000.00. A round oak stove for $4,300.00. Are they out of their friggin minds. If I want to sell my Andes stove, I am going to list it here, it will seem like a bargain compared to these prices.

They will all sit on ebay unsold. But if someone starts one at a reasonable price it will sell.
Its called greed, craigslist can be the same. Someone has something to sell and looks and sees others asking prices and then prices theirs a little higher, then the next guy does the same thing, over and over again. But its really no different than all the cheap asses trying to get things shipped for less than the actual cost of shipping. Its just reverse greed
If everyone would look at the "sold" listings then they would know what something would actually bring. Asking prices and completed sales prices don't mean anything, just sold prices.

Lots of those sellers go to the restored stoves sites and get the idea that their POS is "near mint" with a little polish & paint thus the prices we see. Many of those people have NO idea what goes into a truly good condition stove They can sit on ebay till the next ice age far as I'm concerned.Photog200 wrote:I have not been on Ebay looking at stoves for quite some time. It's the same with classic cars on there. I used to enjoy browsing the endless selection, but now it just pisses me off with all the "Barrett-Jackson" type pricing...
