MERRY CHRISTMAS ,have a very happy day. :D
It is nice to have something to evoke warm memories like this. Make more warm memories on this day.

WH, a truly wonderful way to pay tribute to your father on this day & all others. I lost my father at an early age & think often of how things might have been, fate can take away loved ones but not the memories!

WH wore my Dad's old Pendleton type shirts when I missed him until I wore them out. The upside is I live in the house he grew up in ran a small business as I do now just a different kind. When his business went bad due to illness he sold all his rifles except the first on he ever had. I gave it a good cleaning this morning and need to let a few rounds loose if weather permits. It would make him smile like no doubt the shotgun did as a teenager.

This is only the second Christmas without my Dad, so the emotions are still pretty raw. My family gathering will be tomorrow and I will be wearing a shirt that I gave my Dad. Dave, your message hit home for me. :D

Lost my Dad 38 years ago. Sorry to hear about you missing yours Randy. I dwell on the fun things we did together and do my best to forget the VA hospital. The Shotgun still a shooter. 3 rounds from 50 feet target shredded and left it there. Maybe he will see it and know he was on my mind. Ran 2 patches down the barrel 1 with gun oil and 1 dry one so good for another year. My son stopped by to visit and never noticed it in the corner with a open box of shells go figure. Randy wear one of those shirts. Next year I vow to see what I need to do to fill the normally 5 empty chairs at my table with 5 vets that might be eating alone too. For the record I am not a vet and don't want to pass myself off as one. That does not mean I don't appreciate their sacrifice. Everyone be well and enjoy a quiet night.

Merry Christmas to all you coal stovers.

LOL, I allow myself a bottle of it at the Holidays. :shots:

Randy
:D I can understand the need for priority. I save the Macallen for the end of January for Robbie Burns calibrations. Rest of the year it's the more economical hooch !

Hope you enjoyed it very much.

And have a wonderful get together today.

I made a little zig zag to the bedroom that night so it was nice. It was a very pleasant evening with all of the sensory stimuli that brings comfort this time of year. I hope all enjoyed as much as I did!

Now on to today's celebrations, ALL the kids will be there so it will definitely not be a calm relaxing day. :bang: As long as they have fun, that is what counts.

I am cooking a beef tenderloin coated with my homemade mustard and then covered with strips of bacon. Then a clove spiked ham with a brown sugar and pineapple juice glaze. The smells will be amazing once they start cooking.

Enjoy the rest of this Holiday weekend.

speaking of hooch. I took a bad fall on my folks steps last night . I hit my back on one of the steps so hard I broke one of the step . I didn't take any pain killers though because I had a nice big bottle of dark rum waiting at home for me ;) .
I feel like a truck ran over me today from the fall but other than that it's been a great Christmas. I hope everyone had a good one and will have a happy new year filled with much colder weather ! 75F on Christmas day was not desirable at all and all this rain is lame

OMG, when I first read this and you said you fell so hard you broke it, I thought you meant your back! After reading on, I realized you meant the step. I am glad you didn't get hurt too bad.

Yea, the temps were not normal Christmas temps here either but not as warm as you had. Overnight, we had a low temp of 29℉ so when I got up it was a little cool in the house because I had the stove still set for the temps during the day. Didn't take long to reload Andrew and get it warmed up.

I hope everyone is resting up well today after the busy day yesterday.

Randy
