Any photographers want to donate an image for new logo?

PostBy: Richard S. On: Wed Dec 30, 2015 2:48 am

As you all know I've been promising an upgraded site. Along with the upgraded site will be a new domain name that focuses on coal and is much easier to remember and type which is what I should have done back in 2007. Changes will be seamless, all the old names and links will be redirected to the new domain but I will be saying bye to Nepacrossroads. . If you have been around long enough you'll remember a similar move to Nepacrossroads back in 2007 which went fairly well. There should be no downtime involved with this except for perhaps a few hours when I'm burning the midnight oil the day of the move.

Along with the new site I'm going to need a new logo. I know we have some creative people here so if you want to submit an image to be used for the next site you can do so here. I'd do it myself but I have no scuttle or large coal. :P

What I need is an image of a coal scuttle with coal in it and and at the base trailing off to the right. Preferably stove coal and some smaller pieces to the right. Just so you have idea this is what I'm aiming for.

Image

All I need is the scuttle and the coal. A scuttle that is metallic or contrasts with the coal is preferable. Ideally it should be a shot on a background with same color. Cardboard or whatever

Just so it's clear if you submit an image you are granting me a permanent, exclusive and irrevocable license to use it on the new domain.

Does the winner get a flashy forum name or special color or maybe free tickets to the clam bake!

Do you specifically want it to be stove size coal or is nut ok?

How do you keep the nepacrossroad domain from being used by some poser down the road?

I like the idea of several stoves "trailing off" to the right... various types.

Whatever works but if there isn't pieces at least the size of nut I don't think it will work well.

By paying the $12 bucks a year to keep it registered in my name. This is actually very important because I have to redirect nepacrossroads URL's to the new domain. This will insure the search engines will know it's been moved. Any page rank I have accumulated will be transferred to the domain. Links posted on other sites , bookmarks and whatever else will also work as expected.

Richard,

I have two galvanized antique coal scuttles and plenty of coal from stove sized on down. You may have seen them in the many pix I've posted in the hand fed section, especially the Cookin' With Coal" thread.

I can take lots of pix for you to chose from and your very welcome to them. My question is, what kind of a back ground do you want, blank, or an antique coal range, or whatever ?

I'll be cutting out the background. Ideally just set it on a piece of cardboard or some other material that is the same color. If possible a bright light shining at the base so there is no shadows is even better. In any event anything you can come up I should be able to work with.

I work next to a Gentleman's Club. Maybe one of the ladies would pose for some candid shots with coal covering her toe. ;)

Paul, I don't like bothering the mayor when he's busy. Was wondering if you know when the transformation will take place? Thanks. GTO
