Good luck NS, I have had many friends get them replaced and the results are all over the place.... :|
I know you aren't having it done because the OEM's are pristine. It seems they get better at this stuff every year. But i can't imagine working on them with out any cartilage in there.

Thanks guys. I did get a stay of execution by default; they had an emergency come up so I will go in for surgery next Thursday instead of Tuesday. It is only 2 days later.

I could go to work I suppose, but putting in for 2 days vacation sounds better. I have already been off for 2 weeks due to some banked personal days, Christmas shut-down, a floating holiday (Martin Luther King Day), Christmas and New Years, so what is two days of vacation more to stretch it out for 14 weeks off?!!

As for the surgery, I have been putting it off for over a year. Even now is not the best time as we are in the midst of Lambing Season, but atlas on a farm there really is no "good" time...nor off time for that matter.

I fear that I'm in the same boat unfortunately due to a 4-wheeler accident about 19 years ago. My left knee will bother me like someone is driving a knife into the inner joint if I kneel to wash the pups in the tub or twist on it.

On the bright side every one I've talked to that ended up having knee replacement...whether full or partial (something I didn't even know they could do up 'til a couple years ago)...is happily walking around with a smile and glad they did it.

Best of luck to you, young whippersnapper

Percs and the coal forum are just another day in my life. :D :woot: toothy That's about the only enjoyable part of surgery. Everything else royally sucks - especially the bills ...

Good luck 'Smoke - take it easy and let that thing HEAL. Things don't heal like they did when we were 13. Takes longer than you think, so don't over-do it.
