This is the one I was referring to: http://www.hydrolevel.com/new/images/literature/i ... isphpreq=1
Thanks, Rob. The outdoor reset is the only component feature I don't have in my setup with the Zone Relay Controllers.

I wish there was a controller that would track the zone satisfaction curve, mapped against outside temp, so the boiler could fire at high temp, then keep circulating and estimate where the satisfaction of the zone would be by circulating only the water as it cools.

Maybe I'll start another thread on it so we can focus on this fellow's issue here ;)

Thanks for all the info. I will have to "experiment" a little. The economy setting on the aquastat: I have mine set at 1, because it is a single loop single zone system. But if I changed it to 2 or 3, what difference would I see? Quicker heat return to the house? The higher the number the more coal it burns? Less high & low temp drops when the circulator turns on?

Thanks for all the info. Cannot add anymore insulation in the ceiling, it is vaulted and no attic space exists. When built in 1976, the insulation technology of today was not available or I would have installed closed cell foam. My decision is to continue to set back the thermostat from 70 to 64 at night when temps are 15 degrees or higher. If they re lower. I will lower it to 67 or so.

Thanks for all the info, the site is quite helpful!

It is the opposite, the higher the #, the less aggressive the control is about ramping up the "target temperature". i.e. A setting of 1 will provide faster recovery than 2.
