Actually my 16 year old son shared this with me...and I was surprised he paid attention to such things. ..I don't talk politics with my boys...they have enough to deal with in development.

I think this question has been posed before. In the War of 1812 I believe MA (of which Maine was then a district) tried to give Maine back to England. England responded to this by trying to burn down DC. So George Santayana probably would advise that if we're going to try again, we should think about the possible retribution.

Mike

P.S. JK you Mainiacs.

There is much more of a case to sell SF to the Chinese. This weeks special, throw in the whole of CA.

England responded to this by trying to burn down DC.

Perhaps if we asked nicely they could try again.

Might be related, not sure how distant though.

I know we still have some distant cousins up there.

I only traced back Mom's mother's side to Capt. George Dow's family from Tremont. He's my 1st cousin, four times removed. Was the last skipper of the 7 masted schooner, Thomas W. Lawson. One of my cousins wrote the book of the ship's wreck and sinking.
