Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Hitzer 608
Coal Size/Type: rice

Post by Woodchopper » Tue. Jan. 12, 2016 11:27 am

I have a Hitzer 608 installed this fall by my self. Today I walked in the house and noticed the stove was out. First thought was I lost electric. But the electric was okay. When I bought the stove inside the stove was the coal troll and a dial-a-meter.I unplugged the plug from the dial-a-meter and plugged the stove plug into the outlet and the stove started up.I checked the dail-a-meter and it was bad. I called the factory and told them what I did. They informed me that the dial-a-meter was not for the 608 but for hand fired stoves.

Okay I admit I am a dummy and had no idea the dial-a-meter was not for my stove. It came in a box and was in the stove.Right now the stove is running better then it has since I got it. It seems that the dealer put it inadvertently in my stove.I am glad it is okay and now the stove is working properly.

Anytime you can throw a part away and the thing works better is a win. :)

Yes, it is for the fan speed according to another thread here on the forum. It was called: Dial A Heat on that one.
