I'm finally dug out. Finding places to pile the snow got increasingly difficult. Tired of it and I still need to plow a path to my coal storage shed. This has been the most difficult snow event I've ever been a part of. Even when I lived in northern NJ as a kid I don't remember it ever being this bad. The snow set a new record for Baltimore, 29+ inches. Some schools are still closed. Hopefully we will get mail delivery today. Just finished shoveling out the mail box. I get the Washington Post newspaper delivered. They sent an e-mail saying we will get all our undelivered newspapers but they don't know when. Both Baltimore and Washington are still struggling trying to clear side streets. I got out yesterday and went to the food store. No problems, but most multi-lane roads were still a single lane. Not much traffic. Mostly pickups with snow plows, driving from one job to another. The food store had men on the roof shoveling the snow off. In nearby PA a Safeway food store roof partially collapsed.

The AHS boiler is going strong burning the Superior pea coal. Keeping the house and my garage workshop toasty warm. Switching to coal central heat was the best cost saving investment I've ever made. Keep warm everyone and stay safe.

Yep! Best of all, I got it for FREE! :dancing:

I got the truck, and a '83 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk from a buddy of mine. In exchange, I made 2 trips to FL - one hauling some of his stuff and a '85 Trans Am, & the 2nd trip I hauled a '67 Belvedere down, once he got a place to live. I think after all was said and done, he got the better end of the deal than I, but I'm not complaining.

Had to drop $70 on this moronically designed clutch line for the S10. Stupid o-ring / pinned fittings on each end, so I couldn't flare my own lines. Half plastic & half metal, and run behind the engine and starter - total horror show job. Glad that's done.

So basically I got a running plow truck for $70 & a couple hours labor. Will take LARGE workload off the Polaris. 8-)

I thought I'd give an update about the Blizzard clean up. The plow finally made a second pass down our street and they put down sand. The neighborhood roads are still one lane of packed snow and that makes travel dangerous and slow. Rear wheel drive vehicles don't have a chance of getting out.

The most of the main streets are still only one lane each way and suffer from "disappearing" lane syndrome. Yesterday we had a lot of melting but that all refroze overnight so this morning we have black ice to deal with.

They canceled schools for the rest of the week due to the ice and the fact the bus stops are snow bound and there's no place for the kids to stand. We are due for 50* weather over the weekend so that should get everything open again.

If I can get out of the neighborhood, I'm taking my day off and heading to Williamsburg to see my grandchildren. Take care, Lisa
