The coffee shop is open and fresh coffee awaits. Pour yourself a cup & share a moment. There's tea & hot chocolate for the Non coffee drinkers... we aim to please! Breakfast is going to be a while. I have a hankering for home fries. They will be backed up with Oscar Myer bacon and fresh duck eggs! I bought a dozen fresh eggs was asked if I'd like a couple duck eggs. Sure! They are slightly larger than hen eggs and make good scrambles eggs. Enjoy!

Bam! January is pretty much in the books. Crazy year! Still no snow to speak of and it's been above freezing almost every day. El nino at work I guess. It's certainly a stark difference from last year. We've gone from record snow and record cold to the easiest winter I ever remember. People that bought new snowmobiles and new plows are bumming. That's life!

The Axeman is happy to go slow. I might get two years out of this years coal pile. Very strange.

Welcome home Hambden Bob! ( I think he's home, not quite sure)

Stay busy & get lots done this weekend. Later!

Mornin everyone. 19 degrees this am, they are calling for a high of 47 today, and 54 tomorrow. What a temperature swing. Not much happening here, the plan is to watch the snow melt.

Take care and be safe all.

Good morning. Second day of the weekend for me, I took yesterday off and met with a new realtor to see if there is anything else we can do to find a buyer. She had some good ideas. I think we will give her a chance.

My father-in-law had a heart attack yesterday morning. Thankfully he lives next to a great cardiac hospital on Orlando and they were able to see him right away. Looks like he is going to be fine.

You know, after an assisted mush to Maine,it's pretty unbelievable to make it to both Home AND 'Der Coal Board Coffeehouse ! ! ! ! toothy :dancing:

This sure seems to be some of the tastiest coffee ever ! I always knew that I had it good here, but You Guys literally poured it on me this week ! Mega-Thanx to All !! Freddy's Coffeehouse has always been about the Love, and the Warmth of the Human Spirit and Touch. If We had to explain this place to someone, well,I just believe that they wouldn't understand !

Some thoughts and musings:

You're only as Good as the Folks You're with
If You're not bringing better answers with You,Shut Up and don't complain
The Sun's up and out somewhere in the World
Not All the Nuts are behind the barbed wire,You may be reading the typing of one as We speak !

Having met most of You through the Coal Board, and not in person, makes the Genuine Warmth here all the more sweeter. I'm going to sit down in here with my Wife now. We're going to have Our first coffee together in over a week. I'd like to invite You all to pull up a chair. There's always room for all, here,Thanx to the Fabulous Freddy, and The Mayor !!

Edit-Sorry Rob,but it looks like Your Family still has it all right where You need it to be. God Luv 'Ya's !

Good Morning everyone....

Slow day here, supposed to get up to mid 40s. I will get a couple LED shop lights hung in the garage today. Have a leg of a dog rescue transport to drive this afternoon.

HB....It's good to see you're back home to be filling the hopper on the stoker yourself!

Duck eggs are delicious! I haven't had any since a racoon hit took out "Flakes" (our lone female 'Snowy Call Duck' ) about a year ago.

Good morning, it is back to work Saturday. :( One week removed from the blizzard and things are back to normal here. Where snow was plowed it is bare. Above freezing temps in the upcoming week should help remove even more snow. My two week cold is all but gone. I hate those things; sick enough to be miserable but not sick enough to jump in bed and say you’re sick. Then it just tours the body from sore throat to stuffed sinuses to chest congestion. Just the thing to cheer you up on a winter’s day.

To all the ailing members; get well.

Be safe out there and have a great weekend.

I thought this was a good week. The seasons first snow storm 8-10" no big deal. A little struggle starting the Skid steer at -4*, an average crappy winter morning - seen it all before. Life was good. We had big time power outs the last two winters and the generators were crapping out and I was lucky the freezing plumbing damage was minor. So I decided to invest the money I earned running a Bordello in Freetown Corners and get a new generator. Spent $2000 on a HF Predator 11,000 (running) watt. Put it all together, bought a battery, 50 AMP cable and box and during the mild weather I was going to put it all together - except - yep when I plugged it in no power in any of the 4 circuits. Yes, I did reset them. I asked a knowledgeable friend to come over to do the stupidity check (I can be pretty stupid) and he agreed the phkin thing does not work - sigh. Bummer.

What a difference 1 week makes !! Last week we were working ourselves sick trying to get ahead of the snow that was coming down for a total of 32" by late Saturday nite. :( Last week a peek out the window at 6:30 a/m showed white on the ground, white in the air & everything else was white too. This morning at 6:30 a/m , I peeked out the window....... the sun was peeking back at me !!!!!! I took some pics to show last weeks view at things vs this week.We started at 16* with mostly a sunny day to a high of 36* with slight breeze :D   ~~HB, good to see that you are back home enjoying coal warming heat therapy, try to enjoy the down time.

That is one of the perks of living "down South" - the snow usually doesn't stick around for long. This year we have had similar weather, very unusual for us. Lake Champlain is all open water near my house...I think the last time the lake went that long without being frozen over was 97/98.

Rob, we still have over 18" of snow pack anywhere it wasn't plowed or shoveled or moved with the snowblower. I kinda wish it was all gone like it is where I plowed ,but that would have been a flooding mesh. I have no clue about ponds & lakes,we have been having some really cold a/m temps,Thursday a/m we had 7*.
