Heading to the UP for snowmobiling

Heading to the UP for snowmobiling

PostBy: Rick 386 On: Sun Feb 21, 2016 11:28 pm

A group of 7 of us are headed to the UP from PA to go snowmobiling next week from 2-27 to 3-5
We hope to arrive Sunday morning/noon time frame. We are thinking about laying over in the Flint area Saturday night but will probably want to go just a little farther north to get some good water for tooth brushing..... :D

Anyone have any tips on places to avoid ?? any travel suggestions ??

We are looking to rent a house in the Trout Lake are.

Any local info is really appreciated. Also any locals want to act as a tour guide ??

As Your Cruise Director from Hell, these are just a couple of thoughts to get You and Your Crew started on a short notice basis. Good Luck, and let me know if any of this bears You some results. The one Lodge looked like it had no trouble holding a larger group of Snow Critters.

Bob,

Wwe are looking at renting a home via http://www.homeaway.com

I have used this service before and usually get good results.

Now if only mother nature will cooperate and give us good weather for 1 more week....................

I also need recommendations on a hotel near Saginaw or close to I-75 corridor that is easy access and can accommodate a 2014 F250 King Ranch pulling a 4 sled enclosed Worthington trailer and 2 other vehicles pulling 2 sled trailers. It would be nice if it is an area that is secure and where we don't have to post armed guards to make sure everything is there the next morning !!

Rick, search motels with 'truck parking'. There will be plenty of room in one of those.

Here are some I found with a quick search:

http://currysmotel.com/

Here's a big list: http://www.allstays.com/hotel-maps/Mich ... motels.htm

Checking reviews of these places should give more info.
