Off this topic.
I have a epa wood stove sitting around very thick steel construction. Any way I could modify it to burn bit? It has this ash clean out hole in firebox floor wondering if I could turn it into a stoker undersea or something.

It's a bit hard to judge the size, but I think it's a model 500. I had one of those. The 400 was the largest with a 100 lb. fire box. The 500 was a bit smaller, at 80 lbs., IIRC. The 400 has a bi-metal controlled intake, the 500 is strictly a manual slide on the front, lower door. The 460 was smaller than those two. Perhaps a 50 lb. box. The WM 500 also had a space for the additional blower motor. Some dealers threw the then inexpensive motor in on a deal.
As others mentioned, the bricks are very spendy and getting very hard or impossible to locate. There are 4 different sizes of bricks in the stove. The grates on a 500 interchange with several other WM models. The grate slide is unique on the 500. I enjoyed mine, but it liked to eat a lot. I believe that you could easily heat a fairly large home with a 400 or 500. Especially a two story. The sight of the blue volatile flames shooting out of the 4 stacks of hollow corner bricks, made feeding time fun.
From the location of the OP, I would guess you would be burning bit. That's what that stove was made for. It has a upper slider for over the fire air.

judging from the pics in this thread "New" Warm Morning 500
and the ones at the begining of this thread I don't think we're talking about a 500 the 500 has closed corner bricks like most of the big wm's.
the corner bricks in the bucket beside the 1st stove are 2 sided ( open ) style. or, maybe they are from another stove.

yep, a closed business still had some of these New Old Stock units in storage. I think they were still on pallets and had all the original documents and accessories.corey wrote:New?LoschStoker wrote:You could just buy a new WM 400
they were a great deal but you needed to have freed up funds and move fast, they understandably didn't last long.
here's a link to the original notice about them.
