Paul, that is a 1885 Plymouth stove foundry co. sus.fire pot full base heater called new royal no. 3. I just got the sheet metal back from the tin knocker. I will post some pics when I find the time to go a little further on it .I added a little silver paint to the thermolux black and got a nice graphite color that it got painted with. You got a good eye Wilson

Wilson,
Wonderful idea adding some silver to the black to get the graphite look of stove polish. I never cared for the look of either the flat, or gloss black.

You just reminded me that some auto manufacturers used to do similar in the early 1930's by adding some silver powder to the black paint of wire wheels so that the wheels better matched the shine of the tires.
