Well, I got laid off Saturday and drove my bus back home yesterday. I really liked where I was staying. No "shore" power (I had a generator I used sparingly.) or running water but I made it work. The people at the farm where I was at are exceptionally nice people and that made my stay there a pleasure. I introduced my wife to them Tuesday after being there over 4 months. I think they where starting to think she was some sort of mythical creature until she FINALLY made the trip up there. They invited me back if I get rehired for the next phase of the job next year, which is a very good thing. Nothing is for sure with this kind of work. You just have take it as it comes.

I have found nice people everywhere I have been in the US. I still believe they are the norm rather then the exception.

I was fueling mostly off-road construction equipment on a pipeline replacement/upgrade project. I had to fuel about 45 machines a day and check many more daily at the peak. They where scattered over 5 miles of the project and always on the move. It was a small project so I'm told. It was close to my limit because of all the rules I had to follow and the foolish Zonar system (time waster) I had to use to document what I did as I went. There are more of these projects going on but they time it so not to interrupt the system capacity during the winter. I will be invited back to play but the question is where and when. People came for this job from as far away as California. I'm not sure I want to travel like that. I guess it depends on how much I need the job.

Looks like I might be looking for a place to park my bus from June 1 to Oct 1 near Granby, CT. Nothing for sure yet. Where I will be looking will depend on exactly where I would be reporting to work. Not too soon to start networking.
