Loaded with dioxins and has been for sale for a decade at this price. I have posted on this before. Even worse it is in NYS.

Nothin' like the fresh smell of napalm in the mornin'!

On a serious note I would like to have the one locally to grow vegetables in the winter. ;)

Interesting discussion.

A similar Nike silo system lies in central Connecticut, one off Line Street in Glastonbury. I sometimes wonder if the happy owners of the newly built houses with wells less than ~ 1/4 mile away are aware that red nitric acid fueled these missiles.

But my optimism of life suggests it all was properly disposed of by careful circa 1960's .gov workers.

Who cares bout a nitric acid, good for the tomatoes. The real hazard is all those transformers like the Saranac Lake missile site underwater for decades are leaking PCBs - think dioxins. Also think GE intentionally pouring PCBs into the Hudson river and Jack Welch is still not in prison. That would be an interesting test.

I've seen quite a few valves cracked open a day or so before we were to remove them, there's a lot of weight in PCB oil! Every company got away with what they could, sometimes knowing they would be caught & fined as the fine was less than the cost of transportation & then removal. It's all a game that was played, even building housing over old dump sites to hide them.
Most of the old sites around Pittsburgh were filled in with dry fly ash & then capped with concrete, the fly ash will pretty much flow like water & seek it's own level. ;)
