Ok breathing tube is out, also they removed a blood pressure gauge that was right into one of the veins. At around 5pm today she was moved to the neurology floor for recovery, she is no longer in the icu. So that is a big step forward, tomorrow she should be off one of her other seizure meds. They are weening her very slowly. She is rescheduled for an Mri on Thursday at 430 pm to see the damage to the brain, now that some of the inflammation went down. Our big concern right now is her vision, she has her eyes open alot but does not track well although it seemed to improve so slightly during the day. On the initial Mri the damage was in the area that controls vision. So that is one of the next big hurdles, she is a trooper and looks better every day

Abigail had her iv from her neck removed yesterday she also had her follow up mri. The images showed the damage got no worse, it looked slightly improved from the inflammation going down. The damage that is there is what she will deal with. The outlook is still really good with therapies to help her brain relearn. My understanding it is like someone who had a stroke and would have to let's use relearn how to speak as an example, well abigail has time on her side since she is 4 months old and not say 40 years old. There is a prospective discharge date for the end of next week. She has to go for a swallow test on monday, they need to make sure she can get enough nutrition and that it is going down the right tube. If she has problems with that she will come home with the feeding tube for a little while till she relearn how to swallow properly. She is our little trooper, and the prayers continue

Update swallow test went well today no fluid going in the lungs, so she is allowed to be bottle fed and nursed again. The game plan is to give her the amount they were giving threw the feeding tube but in a bottle, if she finishes it great, if she tires first they will finish in the feeding tube. So if the bottles go well over the next few days the tube can come out. Also we got word that she is likely to be in the hospital for a month yet. They want to do therapy everyday, so it will be a whole lot easier to stay on the rehabilitation floor rather than running an hour every day for therapies. So even if there are a few steps back we still keep moving forward.

Eric
