And what if they owe you?Devil5052 wrote: (Beyond that, filing late is one of the worst things you can do, as far as IRS penalties are concerned. They assess a 5% per month (up to 25%) penalty on any amount you owe.......Just for filing late! (Late Filing Penalty) They even photocopy the Post Office cancellation stamp to show the date when it was received. This penalty is added onto any other penalties & interest.

No penalty, but why wait? (all interest & penalties are based on amount owed)coaledsweat wrote:And what if they owe you?Devil5052 wrote: (Beyond that, filing late is one of the worst things you can do, as far as IRS penalties are concerned. Just a few months ago when discussing education policy and costs you brought up (some might say "complained") a number of times about the state of the schools your grandkids were in and the fact that paper and pencils and other things weren't provided. You may have thrown in an old textbook complaint, too!Devil5052 wrote:I think all you guys are complaining too much! You're paying for the great view of the sky you all have!
My town also has very few amenities & we too have to bring our garbage/trash to the town dumps, & pay $125.00/year for that privilege. I can't really complain too much though as I have put my 3 girls through the public schools, have 2 Grandsons currently in them & one granddaughter who will be going in a few years.
That was in the context of how our federal tax dollars are going to build Iraqi schools & school supplies in Iraq, while they (the federal government) have cut back on aid to public schools in this country. In other words, my tax dollars are going to pay off Iraqi politicians & graft, while my Grandsons have to beg on the streets for pencils here!(I thought my point was pretty clear)pvolcko wrote: Just a few months ago when discussing education policy and costs you brought up (some might say "complained") a number of times about the state of the schools your grandkids were in and the fact that paper and pencils and other things weren't provided.
