OK, I got to ask, How long are your shifts? One of these should be able to 18 hours between tendings with no problem.

Some jobs I'll be away a few days at a time. Longest burns with my set up were about 12 hrs. But I didn't get to run it enough to really fine tune everything.

Yah, I guess 72 hour burn times are out of the question with a hand fired boiler. Time to get a stoker!

Stoker Don....
Don, What's a WCB-24 EFM that Brian has...sounds like some kind of hand fired unit?
If anybody has experience with these contraptions it is you... the Wizard of coal devices.
Can't wait to see the next thing you drag home to your garage..

Sounds like Brian needs a stoker...He will be glad once he has one.

Ken,

Stokerman has a thread about it in the EFM section.
The efm WCB-24 hand fired wood/coal boiler

They were out of production for a long time, then EFM brought them back. This is the unit that Stokerman heats his house with. And, yes, I to find it ironic that a guy that goes by the name "Stokerman" runs a hand fired boiler. The really ironic thing is that he mainly uses wood in it!

I better get out of here and get topic back to Brian.

A nice and safe Holiday to all !
