There is no separation of church and state in the constitution. It's to regulate the government and what it does. The public school system was created to teach children to read & write and read what "The BIBLE" I have a copy of one of the first books from the public and it's all scripture based.

Look back through his posts & you will find very few on coal subjects, so what does that tell you?.....Last time I looked, this is a coal forum that has many intelligent members who like to discuss mainly coal heating, but have many other interests & like to discuss them. Well Bill maybe you should go back in time a little farther when the preists were as powerful if not moreso than the kings. When you believe as I tell you or your dead. Or when the Spainards would cut off the Indians foot & hand if they chose not to believe in their true God. It`s all in the interpatation, you have to change with time just like religion has. That is not Christianity of the Bible, that was done and authored by the catholic church which I'm not a part of and they would have probably murdered me because I would not have submitted to the catholic church. So your right I wouldn't have survived.

I do like to debate issues sometimes. One thing i don't get is why do we even bother? What does it matter if i believe god created man or that man created god? Chances are that i wont be able to convince someone who believes that god created man that he didn't, or that man created god that he didn't. So why even try. i have found that once someone believes one thing or was raised to believe something they rarely change their mind on the issue. All this does is cause arguments and you get no where besides angry at each other. it is good we all have different opinions on politics god and man etc.. but really whats the point?

I'll answer for ME.......I enjoy these discussions for their own sake.(Why do people pay money to walk on treadmills at the gym? ....(They don't get anywhere?!? ) .......They do if for the physical exercise which is good for the body. Similarly, I enjoy discussions for the mental exercise alone!...Period!
Seriously, I have read that using your mind actively seems to delay, if not outright prevent Alzheimer's & other mental disorders. (I'd tell you where I read that but......I forget!!)
That's why I do it.

No, this isn't at all funny and you're right, one cannot argue someone into believing something or not believing in something. It just doesn't work.
