Nope not as hard as coal. But since they are just "dust" that is bound together with some of the volume being flour, I was glad to see they are firm enough that I couldn't leave a dent without pressing as hard as I could with my finger tip.

Someone needs to try this with portland. An 50 pound bag costs 6 or 7 dollars at the Depot. Flour has got to be more expensive. I bet that 10-1 would work also.
