Good day! The coffee is on...ready any minute now. Bacon & eggs for breakfast? I found a new jar of Renata's raspberry jelly. Ahhh, good stuff.
What a busy week! That'll teach me to take 10 days away. Part of it also is that the weather has been So nice. The grass needs mowing again. I did it just 6 days ago. Today is suppose to get to 76 or higher? I'm thinking a first Seadoo ride of the year is in order....after the lawn of course.
The Axeman has been off for a few weeks now. It's odd to not have to empty ashes. Just yesterday I shut the oil off. Now I'll just live on heat pumps is it gets chilly.
Enjoy the weekend my good friends. Hug your loves ones & stay safe.

I took a break from eggs (the usual fare) today and had a bowl of Cheerios. I did get in two cups of coffee though.
Good thing I mowed the lawn yesterday after getting home from work, as it is storming here right now. Presently 53 degrees, and that is the high for the day. Falling to 34 degrees by early tomorrow morning (and also on Monday morning) here.

Mornin everyone. Great breakfast Freddy, I hope you enjoyed your stay in Pa. I gotta start another fire, as it's chilly in the house now, and the forecasted high is to be 57 today with snow tonight and tomorrow. Maybe I can get the grass cut before the snow starts, lol.
Take care and be safe all

This will be the last coffee Saturday in this house. My closing is scheduled for Monday but the buyers agent has requested some additional paperwork at the last minute which might delay it a day or so. I have mixed emotions to say the least but overall I think things are moving in a good direction.
So put on an extra pot because I have two days to make a mad dash and finish cleaning this house out!

Good morning gents, and how are things?
State Farms rates are a hell of a lot lower then Liberty except for the 5th wheel that is almost double. the weather as Larry said is crappy, very rainy and very chilly but thats ok with me as no camping this weekend but the next two weekends just maybe.
Ok friends take care and enjoy .
x2 too that!!! but you can have my eggs I'll just take a bagel with that jelly, yummy raspberry .freetown fred wrote:YEP, lotsa bacon
I've been on heat pumps for almost a mouth the worst heat in the world! I just signed on with State Farm for my house and auto this week as Liberty Mutual just got out of hand with the premiums(house went up 120% in 5 years and the autos 80% and I never had any claims or tickets ) , the agent asked about any solid fuel so I reluctantly said coal well to my surprise no inspection required . I didn't want to reinstall the Hitzer as It's all cleaned up and has a fresh coat of paint just sitting in the garage.Freddy wrote:Now I'll just live on heat pumps is it gets chilly.

Good morning. 55 and sunny here, supposed to be a nice day but will turn cold & rainy tonight. With any luck I can get the rest of the lawn mowed before the rain arrives. Trying to keep the house looking top notch in case another potential buyer wants to do a drive by this weekend. Speaking of home buyers, I have some news...we got an offer on our house! The offer is contingent on the buyers selling their current home, but it is certainly a start. Their house is a very nice starter home, so I am hoping it sells quickly. In the meantime I will keep the place looking great in case someone else shows up that doesn't need to sell a house.

Morning everyone,
Great breakfast Freddy. There's not much I wouldn't do for bacon. We have a slow day today or maybe not so slow. My daughter is coming up from Williamsburg on business and bringing her 2 year old son with her. DK and I get to play with him while she does whatever. Little Freddy can move fast so we'll have to be on our toes.
We are going to take him to the National Zoo. We even have sun today; at least for the morning hours. This afternoon we can expect more rain and thunderstorms. That makes 15 days during which we have had a trace of rain. After reading some of the other posts this morning that are talking about snow, I'll take the rain.
No report on the bees this morning. The rain has delayed the breeding operations so the queens won't arrive until Tues. I released the current queens so they could be laying until then. I'll recapture them Monday (sunny) so I can quickly pull the old queens on Tuesday (rainy) and stick the new queens in. Hopefully, it will just be cloudy, no rain.
Well, I better finish up with the baby proofing the house. Take care, have a great weekend, Lisa

Guess I'm the one that's going to bring down the mood of Coffee today ...
Been on a roller-coaster ride from hell with our Maine Coon, Buddy. He's going to be 13 next month, and still looks healthy .. but his health has been questionable as of late. Last year he went from 19.5 lbs to about 12. He's now at 11. He developed this difficulty breathing the past couple weeks. Brought him to the vet where they drew blood, did x-rays, and a few other tests. Turns out he's got an enlarged heart and hyperthyroidism. I couldn't afford the good treatment, so we've been treating it with pills.
The first day of the new pills, he threw them all up about a half hour after I gave them. I had crushed them up,, so I figured no biggie. I left the house a little before 3pm to head out fishing with a buddy of mine. Got home at 10pm, and the second I walk in the door my wife is yelling for me to get in the bathroom (where we feed him the pills). Buddy is hunched down, shoulders out, mouth open, gasping for air. Thought this was the end. It was so horrible to watch him suffer like that. He would cry with what little air he could get in. Didn't think he'd live to see 11pm. I was absolutely heartbroken. Totally helpless. I was wrestling with the idea to put him out of his misery. When I had that "what should I do" thought, I began to hear "It will be alright" in my head. Glad I heeded the message and didn't do anything stupid. Playing God with my cat isn't first on my list of things, that's for sure.
Worst experience of my life. This struggling to breathe went on all night until morning! A night that seemed would never end. Hearing him cry was heartbreaking. I was in tears most of the night. I got up every sleepless hour, even though I could hear him breathe from across the house, just to check on him. Long story short, by morning he had migrated over to a water bowl, which was a good sign. I ran and grabbed his food from the night before that had his pills in it, and he chowed the whole plate down. He also drank water for literally 5 minutes straight. Was a total transformation! I couldn't believe it! Was so happy! Amazed he survived that.
Got up this morning, and he's back to his old self like nothing happened. Was great to see. But then, time for morning meds. Didn't go so well this morning. Tried putting them in his food after force feeding him one pill (2 to go). He was pretty distraught from that, but he kept eating around the pills. Ended up having to force the other 2 down- now he was stressed to the max. About a half hour later, I noticed a change in him again - starting to struggle to breathe. Monitoring him now. He's breathing out his mouth again (not good) but nowhere near as bad as the night before, but still not good. This is awful.
The roller-coaster ride continues. Hope everyone's week is and will go much better than mine.

Amazing how fast life can turn. Just had to rush him to the vet. Fluid in his lungs - he was suffocating. He died on the table there at 9:30.
RIP Buddy. Wish I could've done more for you!
