Used stoker pricing/availability

PostBy: kzad On: Sun Apr 20, 2008 11:23 pm

I've heated my house with wood and pellets for the past three years, using the oil boiler for domestic hot water. After researching for a few months, much of it on this website, I've decided to replace the oil boiler with a stoker. I've narrowed it down to a new Harman vf3000, or used keystoker ka6. Local harman dealer quoted me list price and told me he can't service it, so I'm tempted to go to Heartline in NH to try to get a similiar deal as sandman ...but would be willing to drive to pennsylvania for a deal on a used or refurbed keystoker. Can anyone suggest sources for used/refurbed units? And how much I should expect to pay?

http://www.thepapershop.com/ this is the Pennsylvania classifieds newspaper, online it costs $2 to get the phone numbers but it's worth it. Outside of the PA coal region it's almost impossible to find a used coal boiler.

signed up for it yesterday, I'll keep an eye on it. I've read here on the forums that used or refurbed boilers can be found in the Pa coal region, and I don't mind the drive, problem is I wouldn't know where to look once I got there.

you have to find one before you drive, they aren't typically sitting with a for-sale sign on the side of the road :D

The EFM is hopper fed via a 55 gallon drum sitting a few feet on the side of it.
