Good morning ladies and gents, I hope everyone is having a nice summer! I'll be ordering my winter's supply of coal this week. Fortunately I have at least a ton a half left over from last year so I'm only getting 4 tons more at most.

Anyways, we had a visitor at the Bird Feeder this morning. He was pretty big and had a bad limp. In a few of the steps he takes it looks like his left front forearm had been broken in the past and healed that way. The bird Feeder is posted only 6 feet from the back door. He looked at me a few times as if saying, "yeah so, what are you looking at?!" Hahaha

Enjoy some pics and video

Great pictures and video.

That's either a very low feeder or a giant bear.

Its the animals that arent scared of you that you have to worry about. His injuries may have forced him into being a back yard survivalist. Cool pictures!

I got the camera out after he had pushed the bird post over so in the pics and video the Feeder was actually on the ground. But yeah, I'd give him 225-250 pounds I'm thinkin. He was pretty tall when he stood up.

In the background towards the tree line I believe you can see the bottom half of the trampoline. But yeah, at a right angle from there we do have a 24 foot above ground pool, I hope he doesn't try to climb in it!

Thanks, I agree he's probably a back yard hunter. I put bread and table scraps out there beyond the tree line a few feet. He was probably looking for some left overs lol.

Lee, I do not make this kind of decision easily--I would get a game warden out there just for the bears well being. He's only going to get bolder. I know our local Game Warden & he's good people, don't know about where you are.

I agree Fred, if he becomes a nuisance I'll probably need to do that.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! It was a pretty exciting event at 6:00 am this morning lol. I hope he makes out okay with his handicap. He's just trying to make a living like the rest of us.

Lightning,
Just my opinion-LISTEN to Fred!!!!!! Make the call.
The bear is already a "nuisance". He will be opening your refrigerator, next!
Cheers

I know him, he voted three times for Cuomo. He got his arm jammed in the ballot box.

That bear appears to be favoring it's right rear leg also. It may have a broken hip or pelvis. I agree that it's best to call the game warden asap.
