Hello folks:
I hope all is well. Just got finished unloading a load of nut coal from Lehigh Anthracite. Since this is only the third or fourth outfit I've used over the years I figured I'd share the experience. Paid $150/ton. Mine staff were very helpful and made sure I knew where I was going. Had to sign in at a guard trailer and get a visitors pass. Reminded me of Beth steel plant. Quarry rules so drive on the left while onsite. Went to scale 2 weighed in empty and was directed up top to the loader and stockpile area. Was loaded in 1 scoop of a big ole quarry loader. Took a little clean up from overspill but no biggy. Truck and trailer now need a good bath as the water truck was making rounds. Tarped up th trailer and scaled out/paid right at scale house. Coal seems to be very good quality. Don't see much impurity in it. Does seem to contain a good bit of fines but the quality looks great. Has a glassy look and seems denser than what I burned last year. Very little shale or rusty impurities visible. I had great coal last year but heard so many good reports on Lehigh figured I'd give am a shot. Hopefully it burns as good as it looks. The camp stoves will tell that tale. Take care!
