Are you using the tank less coil for hot water?

No I am using a amtrol indirect tank on its own zone.

Rob, Those are the required BTU based on my load calc. Were you asking what the user BTU draw is?

As to domestic hot water heat demand, a mere 2 GPM of sustained flow with 60 degrees of rise (required to bring 50 degree ground water up to 110 degree hot shower temp) demands 60,000 BTUH on the output side.

2 GPM x 60 min/hr. x 8.34 lbs./gal x 60 degrees of rise = 60,048 BTUH

If you are using a hot water storage tank, don't let that scare you. Electric HWT elements only pull either 4,500 or 5,500 Watts (and even if you have 2 elements, only one element is on at any given time). That corresponds to either 15,354 or 18,766 BTUH. The hot water tanks storage capacity makes up for the deficiency.

25,000 BTUH input from your boiler should get you into this same ballpark. 25,000 BTUH input x 0.70 (efficiency factor) = 17,500 BTUH output.

For more details see my new thread on this topic.
