Basket case XL as it is torn down.
not pretty, nor functional at all.
Motor in tear down, to begin rebuild. Head/cylinders already out to machine shop.
original frames bent, so got another.. all plastic bead blasted, epoxy primed, now uretane single stage painted, along with swing arm.
color i picked... tomellina red or something like that... thinking a light tan/beige will be better than white for fenders/fuel tank..Hmmmmmm!
transferring igniton/eletrical main plate, plus tripe tree.
Front shocks..... gonna reseal, polish lower tubes a little.. Maybe put in newer progressive springs.
tapped all bolt holes to clean out... some basic wiring in place. Need to rewire all lights etc. All 18Ga wiring.
OEM replacement parts are hit and miss. More NEW OEM parts are available overseas.....Netherlands, Japan/China. Used oem parts for some items are plentiful... others are like Hens teeth, DANG hard to find. There are some major OEM new parts sellers on Ebay, and they are in my list of sellers I go to every 4>5 days and search for parts. got until next spring... so I will keep searching. Normal wear items, fork seal, wheel hub bearings/seals, some control cables easy to get, some cables not so easy.
