Since we run our K-2 boiler all year round we get the benefit of a nice dry and warm basement during the humid Summer. But this AM it is 45F outside and the widows were open last night. A bit cool in the house. I did not want to leave the basement after checking the boiler!!

weather and houses sure are a strange thing. it's 53 OAT here right now, every window that does was open all night and it's 68 in here.

having spent 9 yrs 25 road miles down hill from Rocky Mountain National Park I still think of winter starting out there and proceeding east. they already have a good bit of high snow but this yr. i'm especially aware of how early and fast things change to the east of me.

The house has enough thermal mass to not get overly chilled at night, but that changes as the days get shorter and cooler. I am still burning old/cheap fuel.

My basement was quite warm all summer, even with the insulation and jacket on the boiler, but it kept the humidity down, saved $ on electricity for the dehumidifier.

I have the kitchen zone running this morning, first time this season.
