Nice eggs Rob! Those hens are a bit young for egg laying, let alone eggs that huge, so you must be feeding them all the right things.

I just had scrambled eggs doused with a hefty load of Burman's Hot Sauce (the Aldi clone of Franks RedHot). That and a couple cups of coffee.

That should work. Put it in a pail and let it recirc. Through the coil.
Will update later when I do it.

I have been feeding them a grower mix from a mill in VT, and all the bugs and apples/corn/greens they want. Just switched them to a layer formula crumble.

Try some Crystal hot sauce, I prefer it over all others. Lots of flavor, and not too hot.

Morning All,
Solar system doesn't do a whole lot with this rotating storm mentioned already by Ohio Coal Burning Brotha' *Hambden Bob*...the bees aren't being too productive through this either. But we must have rain too. :P

As for scale build up inside tankless coil, good advice already given and for comparision the indirect tank coil runs the closed loop same ole boiler water over and over, so no plugging up.

A couple years back we got a new bagged Reading coal retailer. Now for this season this retailer has added/opened a bulk coal yard and it is the nearest one to home...too bad still no pea or buckwheat...just rice, nut and soft coal. Did talk to the distributor/wholesaler and they are happy to order in any amount of bagged pea I would want...just order it in April for that year.

I had an earlier chance meeting with the wholesaler and from chatting a while discovered that he did have 25-40# bags of pea left sitting at another outlet for quite some time...so we worked out mutually benefical deal and the 1/2 ton bagged pea was transfered to my more local dealer's location for me. Brought it home yesterday. :)

*pintoplumber* I reconized everyone of those locations...had the Austin dam on 1st photo and Kinzua Viaduct in Mt Jewwit is a long time favorite of mine., almost did a high speed tee-bone with a big cow elk up near Benezett...got to love those anti-lock brakes :)

This needs moved out of the coffee house

Just for anybody following along...if you want to bring out the "big guns" for coil cleaning in high lime or calcium carbonate and iron waters you may use muriatic acid sold in 1 gallon jugs from Home Depot or any swimming pool supply store...it's 10 times stronger and 1/4 the price of CLR.

On a side, this acid will clean rust stains off concrete floor or driveway, you know, from wet leaky coal bags.

This is serious stuff and if you are not going to follow the directions on the product jug...don't buy it!

We are back! F Fred, thanks for starting coffee today.

Linda & I went to MA to my nephew's wedding. He's a fireman & found himself a nice girl to join with. I think they'll be a good couple. I must be getting old....they are in their mid 20's and they look so young!

When I was doing plumbing & it came to this job I was taught to always pump the acid backwards. If pumped forward it can "break of a chunk" and clog the line solid. Pumping backwards for some reason it won't clog. IF you manage to eat through the coil, it was time for a new coil anyway. We used to time it....and I can't remember...it was either 5 minutes max, or 15 minutes. Eye & skin protection mandatory & a cover over the bucket, it's nasty stuff! Stinks! PeeeYew~!

Muriatic acid is merely an archaic name for hydrochloric acid. Very dangerous stuff if you do not wear proper protective gear.

Well, I spent most of the day catching yellow jackets in my shop vac. I have two nests, inside the blocks of my basement. one on each side of my coal chute. I've tried spraying, but that has only had an effect on the bees that actually get hit with the spray. The wife frowned on using napalm......so I have very few choices at this point.

I spent a large part of the day pressure washing and flushing out my 7 radiators, now on to some scraping and wire wheeling before I can paint them.
