Hand Fed Coal Stove: Gibraltar lcc

Post by Coal country » Sat. Oct. 08, 2016 10:24 pm

Hey guys first day on the forum already got some helpful info on my venting set up. My next question is the stove I bought was a Gibraltar lcc looking for any and all info I can get on the stove I paid 400 and it's in physically good shape will look even better with the brass shined and maybe a coat of paint. But as I was saying any info please btu's??? Thing looks like a beast ...burn times... Best coal size....is it a good stove or not so much... Watch outs... Also it's only in 1500's sqft house will I be ok to chug it along low and slow in the basement without Burning out the first and second floor basment is by far a non living space so not worried about it being too hot down there

That's a big stove, well built. 100 pounds coal capacity. Sould produce over 50,000 BTU.

Here is the manual.

Windows are your friend. Open them if your house gets to warm. Its probably healthier than having them closed anyway. You will see the term windowstat on this forum used for that. Open windows, wear shorts, turn on fans, it will feel like summer! :)
