I know it's a bit of a drive but there was an AA-130 down here last month for $500. The only reason I didn't go and grab it is my garage is already full of boilers and radiators.

Member Glenn Harris has had this one for sale for about a year now. it's down to $900.

They are out there, you may have to travel though. I don't think there are many in northern New York.

Building yourself or even having someone else building you a home is a daunting task, either way You'll be up to your neck in alligators...and believe me, I know.

Fast forward for me to now today and I would have radiant everywhere...even in outdoors sidewalks and as much driveway as I could stand...even if it were to take 2- boilers...of which I do have number 2 boiler stored away if that day comes. :shifty:

If you don't go with auger ash removal (or until you do) the 'Behrens' model # '1GS' , an 11 gallon round galvanized steel tub fits my AHS S130 perfectly. I would assume it to also fit the AA-130.

https://www.behrensmfg.com/products/tub ... round-tub/

If you have any 'Rural King' stores in your area, they have them at a good price. 'TSC' may also carry (or be able to get) theses.

The 'Behrens' website lists them at 20.5" wide by 11" tall, but both mine (5 years old) and a brand new one that I measured at Rural King a couple days ago actually measure exactly 20" wide by 10-3/4" tall.

The company that made the square galvanized tub that came standard with my AHS S130 (Dover Parkersburg) went out of business a few years ago. I have not since located a square tub of its specific dimensions anywhere. But the round '1GS' tubs work every bit as well, since the ash sled cuts off and drops the ashes precisely at the widest 20" midpoint cross-section of these round tubs.

Thanks a lot Larry for that, I really like the auger feed and ash removal setup, seems like the best way to go with a brand new setup.

Another feature of this type of boiler is that the fire takes a long time to die. I have had a fire last nearly a day without power once, and I believe others have gone longer. My point is that short-term power interruptions are no problem.
