Hello all.
Thank you for all the information. This year I needed to take the burner assembly off and replace all the rope gaskets.
The one thing I am unsure of is the burner plates where they meet the feed tube at the bottom. It seems there is a significant gap between the bottom of the burner plates and the feed tube. (See photo)
I used 5/8" diameter rope gasket. Everywhere else I used 3/8"
I could not find where it indicates what diameter rope gasket to use so I guessed and got what was local at the hardware store.
Should I perhaps fill the space with cement?
The plates are not cracked and some maybe slightly warped, but I was able to get the bottoms of the plates to form a circle without much effort.
There also is corrosion and pitting on the inside of the chamber. Is there anything I can do to prevent it? Is it just the nature of the beast? I have a chimney cap and run the stoker year round.
Thank you
Burner Plates.

Thanks for the reply Rob.
The auger is only a few years old. The flights are still smooth throughout.
I just cleaned out the back. I'll reinstall the baffles and fire it up.
Thanks again.

I ran into the same problem with the bottom gasket. I ended up using 1/2", it was a little loose though. If I had some 5/8" I would have used that instead. I think this is caused by that area wearing. It should be a "U" channel that the gasket goes into but the inside is missing. So you use gasket to fill the gap. The two S-20 pots that I have are from about 1960 and they are both in the same shape down in there.
