Welcome to the coffee house. Please, come in, find a comfy seat & enjoy a few minutes of togetherness. The coffee is hot & waffles are about ready to hit the iron. Some very tasty bourbon - barrel aged maple syrup awaits. I found it at the Common Grounds Fair. Lot 1, Batch 1. Made in Jackman Maine. The syrup is aged in old whiskey barrels. It does impart a special flavor!
27 degrees outside right now. If this keeps up I'm dumping the heat pumps & firing up the Axeman Anderson.
We went to the annual Hospice of Eastern Maine charity auction on Thursday. Last year I won a years supply of chocolate chip cookies. Every month 5 dozen cookies were hand delivered to me. I almost won them this year, but got priced out. All my friends are going to miss getting cookies every month, LOL.
This weekend is "Homecoming Craft Fair & Maine Marketplace " at the University of Maine in Orono. See you there! It's the one place that I can find blueberry jelly. Blueberry jam is easy to find, but jelly? Now so much.
Enjoy the weekend. Stay warm, hug your loved ones.

I am still dodging the frost. 35 this morning. I think I will mow the lawn for the last time today, and get everything put away and ready for the deep freeze.
House is cozy via the heat pump.

Just sitting by the fire drinking my coffee playing on my phone( ok doing what I yell at my kid for ) I think we have one more trip this month and it may be the last for the year but with this crazy weather you just never know!!.
Ok friends time to walk the dog, enjoy and stay safe

That syrup sounds delicious. Have a lite patchy frost here this morning. I am glad that it was warm enough when I got off work this morning that the windshield didn't need scraped off.
Need to get my AA 130 piped into the pellet boiler soon. Winter will be here before we know it.
My wife and are enjoying a little quiet time before our 2 year old gets up and is running around like a mad man terrorizing the cats
Have a great weekend all I am off to drop water and firewood of to the boy scout troop and then bed.

I'm with you. With power at $0.18kwh screw that. In this Victorian leak box a good heat pump would only serve to keep my toes warm. Mr. Gadget (Freddy) is having fun putting away the electric car, cleaning off the solar panels, (I don't see the sun for 5 months) and God knows what else. Grant me a house reasonably close to NEPA, lots of big honking coal stoves and a TT load of those black rocks. Now that is nirvana. Justin is delivering an extra 4 tons of buck according to Robs advice and I am set. Is it bad to go and stare at the big pile. Don't get me started about that Geospring water heater nonsense either. Let's keep the wars in Syria.Hell Freddy your heat pumps must be better then mine, I would have dumped it 10 sets ago
BIG day on the 21st, I will get an honored visitation from Lord Sherrick who will allow me to feed him .... top that IF you can. I hope the red carpet is back from the cleaners. The Chinese have worked out that Obummer is not worth it ... but William .... OMG ... I had better call the cleaners. The Chester police will reroute the teaming peons. The 5 people that were scheduled to go to the next Hillary meeting will now be outside my house instead. Oh well, back to chit shoveling.

Simon, my house is 72 with the heat pump running in silent mode. I think it is perfect for days that start out in the 30's and end in the 60's. I will be back on coal in a few weeks. I am looking forward to your feedback on the buck coal in your LL stokers.
I will have to get back to you guys on how my electric bill for this month compares to years past.

It's beyond good to be back home. The power of a hurricane is beyond comprehension until You wade right into the damage blast path. I'm really glad to be back in frost-riddled NE Ohio. Those of You that have relatives in the affected areas,I can tell You that they are a resilient people. It was an amazing trip. I hope that this finds You All Well !!

They are calling for snow here the last week of the month, with heavy rains preceeding that. I'm ready, I guess
Take care and be safe all.

I told you not to buy that island in the Bahamas. My family is mostly on on the East coast of Florida and I regularly get "you are crazy to live up there" . Polar cold I can win. Hurricanes, super droughts and earthquakes I don't know how to win....The power of a hurricane is beyond comprehension until You wade right into the damage blast path.

Oh boy, do I have a deal for you in Magnolia St in St Augustine Fl. In 5 years they will have it pumped out and dry again and 20 more years to recover and you will be made in the shade. It took a generation for Homestead Fl. to recover from Andrew.I guess Real Estate was never my strong suit
