Size dimensions of DF520

Hey EFM experts....

Looking to put a DF520 in a house I recently moved into, and i was wondering if anyone can give me the size measurements of this furnace/boiler. Need to do something till this coming winter because theres no way I can afford the oil furnace to heat this old barn of a house.

Length, width, height.... with burner out, and disassembled to bare bones....

Not so sure I can wrestle one into the basement or not because the crook at the top of my steps to go into the cellerway. It just may not fit.

May need to blow a hole in the floor?!

I can measure tomorrow, but the largest part is the boiler and that is about 26 wide and about 45 long and 24 high. Weighs 800 lbs.

The exact measurements are:

42" long (without the coil, 41"), 25 3/4" wide and 27 1/2" high.

Is the df520 still have these exact measurements?

Getting install done in few weeks and need to know if I have to rip up my flagstone side porch.

Have measurements changed with the newest model (ones being manufactured right now)

I might be able to take largest pieces thru house and down basement stairs, but not if 800 lbs (that might be tough)
Bring right down through outside entrance would be alot easier.
Outside steps are in the 2 ft wide range...but if I rip up stone, I would have an extra foot or more.

I don't have a 520, but the EFM spec sheet I have shows measurements different from those posted above. The spec sheet is for an older AP-520-1, but I'm not aware of the dimensions having changed that much. Maybe someone has a newer spec sheet, or someone with a DF520 can take some measurements?

Boiler head - 25 1/4"W x 28 3/8"H x 36 7/8"D, 750 lb.

Base - 26 1/8"W x 24 1/8"H x 36 1/2"D, 142 lb.

Thanks much. I am concerned about the differences and would like to know the newest.

The matters are dependent on whether I will have to do approx a few hundred in labor in materials myself
Much more if someone else does it.

Just trying to explore all my options and trying to keep ahead of the steps.

Call the guys that are building your boiler and ask them how wide it is.

I did contact, but all over the site lists that you need to go thru efm auth dealer.

Lets just hope a question on dimensions can be answered

Nearest of my knowledge the dimensions should not have changed much through the years. We need JC to chime in here because dimensions and capacities are his specialties. The 520 is essentially the same as it was
30 years ago and if you look at the burner units not much has changed. However I have been wrong before.

I haven't seen many posts from JC lately; not sure if he will jump in on this.

The dimensions I provided are from EFM Form AP-245R-67, so they should be pretty good for their time (my guess is the "67" refers to 1967). FWIW, that form shows the same sf of heating surface as appears in Table 1 on p24 of the DF520 manual on the EFM website - http://c326988.r88.cf1.rackcdn.com/DF52 ... lation.pdf (so it wouldn't be surprising if the dimensions haven't changed).

I got thru with a phone call.

Dimensions have changed barely, but still a little here and there.

What I got from Jay @ efm is 25 1/4" to 27" Wide X 25"-26" High X 41 Long (depth)
Also weight for boiler is 830 lbs with total ship weight it is over 1200 lbs.

I am down to the inch with my situation!
I hope with it on a dolly, it might be able to be squeezed thru.

It was a tight fit through my basement door as well...I will measure the door when I get home. Tough to measure the boiler with the jackets on.

I will have to take a pic of my basement door too...

It is a bit weird thing.
The steps were somewhere around 36 wide, but they walled off 2 ft or so,
and put a small 1 ft door on the left with a 2 ft door on the right.

The right side goes out to the side porch which is flagstone, and it covers up the 1 ft side.

So if I needed to access the 1 ft extra side, I would have to rip out the flagstone (which will probably come up in the next few years,,,maybe)
and then rip out the wall!!!

Then I could either put the wall and doors back up, then re-mortar the flagstone,
OR I could just put a bigger hatch to make it a 3 ft wide access to basement.
